Unalome

Years ago I was searching for inspiration for my logo, something different yet meaningful. The intriguing Unalome caught my eye. At first, the Unalome can look like doodle art, featuring a single line that spirals, twirls and ends in a straight line. Although simple in appearance, the Unalome holds within it the entire philosophy of human existence. It is a symbol that is held in high regard in Buddhist culture, it stands for the journey one takes from birth until they attain spiritual enlightenment.

The path can be winding or convoluted, but it eventually ends in a straight path, symbolizing the path to a higher place of spiritual contentment. The spirals are meant to symbolize the twists and turns in life, and the straight lines the moment one reaches enlightenment or peace and harmony.

We go through so much in life, ups and downs, wins and perceived failures, the line is hardly straight at all. And yes, we learn to thrive despite the odds. We evolve, and make peace within our own hearts and with the world around us. We accept, embrace, and give thanks to life in its entirety.
